Mad Mex is making a welcome addition to the southern end of Sydney’s George Street with the opening of a new restaurant opposite Central Station. Offering a convenient gourmet-to-go menu, the new restaurant will cater perfectly to the needs of the office blocks and tertiary institutions that dominate the downtown precinct.

“This was a perfect location for Mad Mex to open given the high level of office workers and students in the area,” says Founder, Clovis Young. “The idea behind fast casual restaurants like Mad Mex is that you can purchase food quickly and without it being too expensive but still get a restaurant-quality meal. That sort of option is perfect for students and office workers on the run or for those with a bit more time they can dine in and even enjoy our selection of margaritas and Mexican beers.”

The restaurant is Mad Mex’s ninth in NSW and twelfth nationally having opened its first restaurant in November 2007 and grown steadily since.

Mad Mex offers authentic Mexican cuisine with a Baja Californian-inspired menu of delicious and nutritious burritos, nachos, quesadillas and more all prepared with only the freshest ingredients and served in a fast casual format that can be prepared to dine in or takeaway. The made-to-order system of preparation allows diners to customise their meals to their exact taste preference and dietary requirements.

Proudly using only the freshest produce and ingredients, the business makes nutrition a high priority. True to the cuisine of the Mexico’s Baja Californian peninsula, the menu combines bold local flavours with the health consciousness of neighbouring California. Mad Mex even offers a nutritional calculator through their website ( and mobile site ( that allows health conscious customers to calculate the extract nutritional content of their meal.
