MAD MEX ADDING FLAVOUR TO FILM FESTIVALOctober 2011
Mad Mex Fresh Mexican Grill will be adding flavour to the 2011 Hola! Mexico Film Festival as an official food sponsor of the 2011 event. Describing Mexico as “a land where the incredible happens every day”, the festival “paints a reality seen through the eyes of our film directors.”* With the presence of Mad Mex this year, audiences will be able to experience the authentic cuisine of Mexico as they investigate it through film.
The partnership arrangement will see a selection of items from Mad Mex’s Baja-Californian menu exclusively served to attendees of the opening night events in Sydney and Brisbane
Mad Mex CEO Clovis Young says the partnership is an ideal brand alignment given the nature of the festival in celebrating true Mexican culture.
“The opportunity to position Mad Mex alongside the Hola! Mexico Film Festival was incredibly desirable for us,” says Young. “The purpose behind the Mad Mex brand has always been to educate Australians about true Mexican cuisine and steer perceptions away from the sombrero and cacti stereotypes. By exposing audiences to Mexico’s artistic community the festival helps to change perceptions in a similar way.”
The Hola! Mexico Film Festival will be staged October through to the beginning of December in major cities across the country. The selection of 16 films for 2011 includes documentaries, comedies and dramas.
As part of the sponsorship, festival goers will be entitled to a 2-for-1 meal offer in Mad Mex by presenting their festival movie ticket in-store.
Since the opening of its first restaurant in November 2007, Mad Mex has established itself as a firm favourite in the Mexican fast-casual dining sector in Australia. With an authentic Baja-Californian menu inspired by the bold flavours of Mexico and the health consciousness of neighbouring California, Mad Mex offers a nutritious and convenient menu with a gourmet-to-go system of preparation that allows customers to completely customise their meal.
