MELBOURNE: LOVING MEX TO THE MAX!June 2012
Melburnians who are mad about fresh, authentic Mexican food will soon be able to get their foodie fix from a hat-trick of new Mad Mex outlets. The Fresh Mexican Grill specialist opened at Southern Cross Lane on 25th June and will open at Southern Cross Station on 4th July in response to overwhelming consumer demand. A third new store at QV is scheduled to open mid-August.
Mad Mex first landed in Melbourne in 2009 on Chapel Street, Windsor, before local franchisee and Melbourne resident Brad McMaster opened in Melbourne Central in May 2011.
From the beginning, Mad Mex has been committed to bringing an authentic Mexican experience to its customers, stemming from a passion to prepare and serve the best quality gourmet Mexican food. From tacos and churros to burritos and nachos, Mad Mex uses only the freshest produce, flavoursome salsas and authentic slow roasted and grilled meats. With 20 stores nationwide and another 15 to open over the next six months, the Mad Mex revolution shows no sign of slowing.
Mad Mex uses rice bran oil exclusively in its cooking and food preparation, meaning that all delicious items on the menu are trans-fat free. With gluten free, low calorie, dairy free and vegetarian options available, Mad Mex offers something for everyone. The menu gives customers the opportunity to not only customise their fillings and calculate the nutritional value of each item via their website www.madmex.com.au/nutrition, but also tailor their meals depending on their preference.
Mad Mex franchisee Brad McMaster, who will add the Southern Cross Lane and QV outlets to the existing Melbourne Central store to his portfolio, is passionate about delivering an authentic Mexican experience. “The demand from Melbourne consumers has been overwhelming, and we can’t wait to expand across the city,” said Brad. “It’s so important to us that we’re offering fresh, healthy Mexican food, and it’s great to see how well it’s been received to date. Here’s to further expansion in the future.”
